Posted: Sun Mar 27, 2005 4:37 pm Post subject: Upgrade on Monday 28th |
|
|
The major upgrade will now happen on Monday 28th, early in the morning, UTC time. There will be downtime but it should be limited to an hour or two.
The new version of WPMU uses more aggressive caching to make your weblog even faster.
A side-effect of this is when someone posts a comment to your blog it won't always immediately appear as a cached page is still served. The comment may not appear for up to an hour. The blog owner may clear the cache by performing some action in the blog backend such as posting a new article, editing a template or changing an option.
This post may be updated throughout the day.
Thanks,
Donncha.

|

Hey! what a fast upgrade!
Only two little bugs:
1) In my referers page (into manage) there is no data.
2) Now, in "Most recents post" column everybody can see my drafts headers (if you click you go to an empty page, but the link is there)
This is all by the moment
thanks for a great service

| Not quite so fast, there was a lot of work done in the background preparing for the change over! I'll look into those bugs as soon as I can! |

I just can't log in. My blog address is htttp://splash.blogsome.com
When I click the "login" link on my blog, somehow my browser starts to download the php file.

what's happened to my blog???? I've lost all formatting. Even when I login, the theme option is no longer available. I have no themes, no CSS, no nothing. YUCK.

My blog works fine. http://myopiczeal.blogsome.com/
But when I go to click "manage" after logging in and seeing my dashboard, it is trying to download edit.php instead of executing and displaying it, I guess. It says "unknown file type" and is prompting me with the IE download dialog. |

|
|
HI,
I see the WP 1.51 installation has switched to "safe mode" for Smarty -- is that permanent? I had several hacks in blog templates that no longer work -- OUCH !!!
For example, I had a simple hack that automatically inserts technorati tags -- it's broken now. There are other hacks I had in place too. None work.
Any chance of that being "fixed" or allowed? |

Another problem I forgot to mention, for some reason some of my Javascript won't work either. I get error messages where it's complaining about "document" tags, which is causing the error. Worked fine before the upgrade.

Well my site is not looking right now and as another person mentioned here already no themes option or anything. My site now seems to be very slow since this update.
Another thing why was 1.5.1 alpha chosen when it is not as stable as 1.5? just curious

A problem I got since the update is the following. Note I use the standard Kubrick theme adapted a little to my needs. At the postmetadata stuff, I now have a break and some weird list item in it. Like this:
Before it looked just like 1 line: "Posted in General | 1 Comment" or the likes. I searched the CSS file and the post file for any breaks or lists but couldn't find any. Can anybody help with this because it just looks wrong ^_^
Peace out,
~Aetherfukz

Did you try http://splash.blogsome.com/wp-login.php ? (I can't see a login link on your blog) That brought up the login dialog for me. |
