2. Im trying out ecto on the 21 day trial, but having a bit of difficulty configuring it. Im not sure what the url is for the Api and other profile settings. can anyone help on this? _________________ Opinionated Voice and

Hi Jamal,
Do following to create profile in ecto, after the program starts.
1. Click on Tools /Profile manager.
2. Select new profile
3. Profile Name : enter anything or your blog title
4. Username: your user name
5. password : your password
6. API type : MetaWeblog
7. API End Point(This should be complete URL): http://yourblog.blogsome.com/xmlrpc.php
8. Password protected directory: your user name /password.
Rest all leave as default. |

Do you know if it is possible to back up posts locally with ecto. Ie, saving them to my PC? _________________ Opinionated Voice and

I have not used ecto, but I know it is quite feature riched software. Well all following blog editing softwares allows you to download Posts from the blog.
To download you will have to define No. of posts that you want to download. This option is generally located on the top panel of side bar(this is the place, where your Post title and blogname is shown).
After you define No. of Posts to download, just click refresh button to take effect. Once the posts are downloaded you can save on your HDD. Some softwares save files as .ttl or .MT etc. and you can find these under their directory for e.g. | Quote: | | C:\Program files\qumana\backup |
1. ecto (being demo, I think they have disabled backup option)
2. CoffeeCup Blog Machine
3. Blog Navigator
4. Blogjet
5. Qumana ---> freeware (qumana.com)
Rather recomeding one & discarding other. I would suggest you to download and check, which software fullfills your need. |
