I just decided to open Comments section but am being told by readers that they cannot post.

When one views the site, sometimes the Comments section appears, but mostly it does not. When it does appear, *I* can post....but no one else has been able to.

Help!

As said before, it's not possible to access your plugins folder.

However, if your intention is to generate a sitemap of your blog like this: http://eec.blogsome.com/archives/,
then follow the instructions here: (it's several steps to do this, not easy!)

Blogsome doesn't allow you to add any Wordpress plugin, I guess for technical reasons, because Blogsome is not the same as Wordpress, only similar.

You have to plead with the Admins to get one added to the repository...

Unfortunately, the text on the "Plugins" management console is misleading:

To install a plugin you generally just need to put the plugin file into your wp-content/plugins directory.

There is no option to upload any files into that folder.

Ah, I see you got in ahead of me, matthiku.

That error message is new; I added it a few minutes ago. I then removed it again, because I decided that there were probably a number of blogs out there in the same situation, and the bloggers would not want error messages suddenly appearing on their blogs.

You need to enable the "Recent Comments List" plugin.

Put it into main.html, at the end, right before
</body>
</html>.

Make sure to enclose it between
{literal}
...
{/literal}
statements, so that the Smarty-Server doesn't feel offended

`quantity' and `length' are not recognised parameters for get_recent_comments. Using them is not an error (at present), but they won't do anything (i.e. get_recent_comments acts if you had supplied no parameters). The correct parameters are `no_comments' and `comment_length'.

aline: if you're still interested in getting this to work, try putting this in your index.html template:

{get_recent_comments no_comments="6" comment_length="11"}

Feel free to change the numbers.

If it doesn't work, leave it in and post here, so we can investigate.

chaosinh: sorry for the delay in replying.

It is very expensive (in terms of computer resources) to store the information which is used to generate the Referers page. We had to turn off this feature on one of the Blogsome servers (which happens to be the one hosting your blog), because we had to move a large number of blogs to the server recently (because of the disk failure announced at http://blogsome-forum.blogsome.com/viewtopic.php?t=5145 ), which has made the server too busy to support the feature.

We are reimplementing the feature so that it should be faster. The work seems to be nearly complete, and we are now storing Referers data again on the server in question. However, you won't see anything which would have been logged since the problem arose. (We could insert the data manually, but it would take a good deal of programming work.)
